Liceo Ginnasio Statale Augusto – Rome, Italy

Our school was founded in 1937, two thousand years after the first Roman Emperor Augustus’s birth. It is located a few kilometers from Rome’s centre (3,1 km from the Colosseum), and it is one of the most famous grammar schools in the city, with more than one thousand students. Our school focuses mostly on humanistic subjects (such as Italian, Latin, Ancient Greek, Philosophy, History), but obviously without overlooking the scientific ones and English. Thanks to the preparation it gives the students who leave our school have sound basis to face university studies and quite a lot of them do go to university.

The Educational Syllabus is completed by optional courses in the afternoon that include Spanish, preparation for exams like DELF and Cambridge ESOL, several lessons to examine in depth morning classes and a school of music, with a choir. The school is provided with a language lab, an aula magna, a Music room, an IT lab, a Science and Physics lab, a gym and a sporting field. Besides, every classroom is furnished with an interactive multimedia board, a projector and a laptop  connected to a wireless net which covers the whole school.
